Dining Room
Well I gave the yellow and grey a week to grow on me… And it didn’t. I cleared out the bookshelves and swung the table around in an attempt to create a more open space. I think I am finally satisfied with my dining room!

Beautiful serving tray I found at this week’s thrifting adventure.. Bird candleholders from Target, silver chest from Lush, amazing kitchen print? PVC tablecloth from Spotlight. (Much nicer as a framed print)

I keep seeing these acrylic and ceramic balls in all the shops lately. I found these particular ones in Spotlight, they were on clearance for $2 each and I couldn’t say no.

I just love the serving tray and chest. The hole pattern on the chest are actually small hearts. It is currently housing my wax melts for the burner, smells delicious.

The large hanging print is yet again some framed PVC tablecloth. Spotlight have the coolest prints, you just need to think outside the box (or table).

I made baby cupcakes today as I thought it might be about time to put baked goods into the cake tray rather than cactii.. They were delicious (the cupcakes, not the cactii)…

This shows a nice detail on my thrifted serving tray. Beautiful swirl pattern etched into the silver.. Latest obsession = sterling silver serving trays!

Another thrifted find… Loved these little jars. The set includes Salt, Pepper, Curry and Basil. I’d rather use them as little vases…

Utensil print framed on the opposite wall alongside my other obsession – tissue paper poms…

Photograph on the left is one I took at a beach here. It’s my fella running down the jetty… (at 6.00am on a Sunday because I thought the light was nice for photos – bless him)

Overall very pleased with the current decor. It’s very restful… Just had some family around for tea and coffee and was given the nod of approval so I think it shall stay around for a while!! (Plus I need a break from redecorating, sheesh!).

Hi Samantha – was just reading through your blog – especially love your before & after photos. You layout your blog really well – very easy to get inspired ! I love your before & afters of your sitting room – looks absolutely awesome. And I’m glad to read that (like me) you’re not a big fan of open plan houses. Me too – I like rooms to be individual and have a purpose. Nice to hear I am not alone ! thanks for inspiring me !
